The Plymouth and South West Devon Party Council is holding the Annual Rally on 31st October at 7pm in Plymouth Council House, Armada Way, Plymouth PL1 2AA.
The discussion will be on Cooperative Values, Credit Unions v's payday loans.
The guest speaker is Christine Allison, a social business advisor, who recently was a member of a task group, set up by the Archbishop of Canterbury, to look into payday lending. She has had 20 years experience working within the world of finance. Christine brings a cooperative viewpoint on the subject.
Councillor Tudor Evans, Labour Leader of Plymouth City Council, is a Labour and Co-operative Councillor, he is leader of our brilliant cooperative Council. The Council is a member of the Cooperative Council's Innovation Network, Tudor has just stepped down from being the Vice-Chair of the CCIN.
Luke Pollard is the Labour and Co-operative Parliamentary candidate for the 2015 General Election, when he plans to return Plymouth Sutton and Devonport Constituency to Labour. He is currently campaigning on several important issues to us in the south west, including forming an Armed Forces Credit Union and keeping the Breast Screening Service within the NHS.
Alison Seabeck MP is a longstanding Cooperative Party member and is currently a Shadow Defence Minister. We are looking forward to returning Alison to Parliament with an increased majority next year.
