In the local Teignbridge area there are a few parks that are used by hundreds of people daily especialy through the summer. In my area especially Bakers Park and Figure 8 park there are no toilets within these parks for anybody to use especially children. This is stopping some people from using these parks and making the best of the area.
Its not just these parks its also others in Teignbridge and throughout the country, this has to be changed nation wide as its not fair to have to tell a child they have to hold on, so as parents you take them to the woods or a bush or tree to go. Whilst doing this you get some complaints from some adults who are there, I have had older people having a go at me for allowing my child to go for a wee in the woods before, but what are we supposed to do.
The councils have enough money they waste on other things it cant cost them that much just to put toilet blocks in local parks around for children to use. If we take Bakers Park in Newton Abbot for instance there was always a toilet block in the park but they were shut I believe due to drug use and other things, but why cant my child and all other children be down the park all day and have access to some type of toilet.
If there was this facility more people would take advantage of this local open space more for having picnics and using the woods.
