Ed's Leadership

The greatest labour leader Clement Atlee and the greatest Prime Minister, had similar problems to Ed, when only a few weeks before the 1945 election he received a letter from Harold Laski the party chairman suggesting that he should resign, as he was seen as a liability. This together with the derogatory widely publicised quotes by Churchill, seemed the end for Atlee. Atlee replied to Laski the same day, thanking him for his comments. He went onto win the election with a landslide of 190 majority.
